Contoh kalimat pelengkap subjek umur dalam Bahasa Inggris
Hello friends, di sini saya mau membagi bagaimana caranya membuat kalimat dengan kata "age/usia" dalam bahasa inggris. Disini ada tiga bentuk atau pola yang akan di bahas, baik dalam bentuk affirmative, negative, atau interrogative (positif, negatif, atau pertanyaan).
1) Affirmative Sentence (Kalimat Positif)
Pola: Subject+Be+Complement+Adverb.
Contoh: Ryan is 17 years old now
Ket: Ryan: Subject; is:be; 17 years old: Complement; now; Adverb
Di bawah ini contoh lain dalam bentuk present tense, past tense, dan future tense.
I am 20 years old now.
You are 20 years old now.
He/She/It is 20 years old now.
Gerald is 20 years old now.

Catatan:
a) ada dua kemungkinan untuk mengatakan usia:
Lengkap: I'm twenty years old now
Singkat: I'm twenty now.
b) untuk keterangan waktu (adverb of time) boleh menggunakan "this time" , boleh juga tidak.
Contoh: kita bisa katakan "this time next year, this time last year, atau hanya "last year dan next year".
2) Negative Sentence (Kalimat Ingkar)
Pola: Subject+Be+Not+Complement+Adverb
Contoh :
I am not twenty years old now.
He is not twenty years old now.
She is not twenty years old now.
It is not twenty years old now.
We are not twenty years old now.
They are not twenty years old now.

No, I am not.
No, I am not twenty years old now. I am thirty years old now.
Contoh:

a. Pola: Question Word+Be+Subject?
Kata tanya (question word) yang digunakan dalam pola diatas adalah 'how'. How ini ditambahkan lagi dengan kata: old.
Contoh: How old are you? I am twenty years old.
How old is she/Mary? She is twenty years old now.
b. Pola: What+age+be+subject?
Contoh: What age is Riny?
Jawab: She is 17 years old atau she is seventeen.
c. Pola: What+Be + Genetive case /possessive + age?
Contoh: What is her age?
Jawab: She is 17 years old.
Catatan: Genetive case/possesive di atas maksudnya adalah Possesive Pronoun (Kata Ganti Milik) atau Genetive Case dari Pronoun (kata ganti), yaitu: My, Your, His, Her, Our, Your, Their.
